Horrible Christmas

I have a love for Christmas horror movies, so this was inspired by my favorite, Better Watch Out. Also inspired by several of my favorite horror games, like Resident Evil and PT. This is my first time trying out Unreal Engine 5, and so far it's a blast!
All the assets, materials, and lighting were done by me from scratch.
I wanted to challenge myself to sculpt as many assets as possible. It's a balance of knowing how much to sculpt, versus letting your materials define the surface. You don't want them to compete with each other and make a noisy looking asset!
Lighting is also very important in setting overall mood. You can have the best assets in the world, but if the lighting isn't good, the intention of the scene could totally be missed!

It's sometimes difficult to know how MUCH to sculpt. In this case, with all the ornate details, I try to keep the edge detail minimum in these spots so they don't compete with the pattern.

Keeping the sculpts more simple in this case helps to preserve realism, and not compete with the normal map of my materials.
